Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Om Prakash Bhagat today chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission schemes, aiming to ensure clean drinking water access to rural communities.
During the meeting, the DC emphasized the crucial aspects of high-quality work, timely project completion, and effective supervision to achieve the goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission. The discussion highlighted significant advancements in Rajouri, with 298 JJM schemes having 660 components with estimated cost of Rs 1974.77 cr have been sanctioned in the district.
Regarding component-wise status of the implementation of the JJM works, it was informed that out of 205 borewells, the work on 196 borewells is completed. As for the dugwells, out of 24, work on 2 is completed, while the rest are in progress. Additionally, out of 107 rapid sand filtration plants, work on 99 has been initiated. Furthermore, under Overhead Tanks (OHTs), out of 9, 5 have been completed.
