Deptt of Islamic Studies BGSBU holds weeklong research methodology workshop

Srinagar, Nov 6: Department of Islamic Studies, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri organized a One Week Research Methodology Workshop in Social Sciences and Humanities from 31 October to 06 November 2022. The programme began with an inaugural session in which the inaugural speech was delivered by Prof. G. N. Khaki, Director Shaikh-ul-Aalam Centre for Multi-disciplinary Studies (SACMS) & Head Shah-i-Hamadan Institute of Islamic Studies, University of Kashmir. He highlighted the significance of organizing such kind of workshops in academic institutions. 
In this workshop, fourteen resource persons belongs to diverse disciplines of Social Science and Humanities including Library Science and Electronics & Instrumentation delivered in the workshop and provided training with regards to the different research methodological tools and softwares. 
The resource persons included Dr. Aerum Khan (Sr. Faculty Member, Department of Teacher Training & Non Formal Education, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi), Prof. Mohd Aslam (Former Dean School of Languages, CUK, Srinagar), Dr. Javaid Ahmad (Sr. Faculty Member, Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Technology, UOK, Srinagar), Dr. Altaf Anjum (Coordinator, Department of Urdu, Kashmiri & Islamic Studies, Directorate of Distance Education, University of Kashmir), Dr. Shams Kamal Anjum (Associate Dean, School of Islamic Studies & Languages), Dr. Sajad Ahmad Rather (Faculty Member, Department of Economics, BGSBU), Dr. Aijaz Abdullah (Faculty Member, Department of Economics, MANUU, Srinagar Campus), Prof. Fauzia Khan (Professor, Department of Teacher Training & Non Formal Education, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi), Dr. Showkat Hussain (Former Head, Department of Islamic Studies, IUST, Awantipora), Prof. Mohd Sanaullah Al-Nadawi (Prof. Department of Arabic, Aligarh Muslim University), Dr. Nayyar Jabeen (Coordinator, Department of Education, BGSBU, Rajouri), Ramesh Pandita (Librarian, BGSBU, Rajouri) and Dr. Parvez Abdullah (Faculty Member, Department of Management Studies, BGSBU). Almost all important themes were covered and necessary training was provided to the researchers. 
The workshop was attended by more than 40 participants in offline and equal number of participants in online mood. The participants were from different universities across the country viz. Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, University of Kashmir, Central University of Kashmir, Islamic University of Science & Technology, Awantipora, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Dehli, Jamia Hamadard, New Dehli, IGNOU, New Dehli, Punjab University, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Lovely Professional University, Mahatma Ghandi University, Kerala, Sharda University, Greater Noida, U.P., SKUAST, Jammu and several Govt. Degree Colleges of the UT. 
The valedictory function was held in the Conference Hall of Management Studies, BGSBU both in online and offline which was attended by all the registered participants and resource persons including the invited dignitaries viz deans of different schools of the university and Registrar of the University. Coordinator of the Department Dr. Naseem Gul welcomed the Guests and Dr. Rafiq Anjum presented the formal Vote of thanks. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Mohd Younus Kumar.
