Shopian, Sept 18 : District Election Officer (DEO) of Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem, made an impassioned appeal early Wednesday morning, urging voters to come out and exercise their right to vote.
The DEO emphasised the importance of the polling day saying it will return after five years.
“This day provides you an opportunity to use the power of your vote,” Saleem said, urging citizens to take this chance to shape the future of their community.
Highlighting the crucial role of voting, he said that the right to vote is not just a privilege but a powerful tool to drive progress, especially in addressing issues faced by vulnerable sections of society such as the poor, widows, and other weaker groups.
The DEO reminded voters that their participation is key to ensuring the development and welfare of their area.
“I appeal to you to cast your vote for whomever you choose, but do not waste it,” he said, encouraging everyone to make their voices heard through the democratic process.
