Srinagar, Sept 11: A vibrant demonstration of advanced rhythmic gymnastics was held at Delhi Public School Srinagar, organized by the J&K Sports Council in collaboration with Delhi Public School Srinagar as part of the ongoing National Advanced Rhythmic Gymnastics Training Camp. The camp, which has garnered significant attention, is being conducted under the expert guidance of international coach Ms. Dilbar Ibrahimova from Azerbaijan, a celebrated gymnast of international repute. Ms. Ibrahimova, in collaboration with Ms. Krupali Patel Singh, Arjun awardee and national head coach for gymnastics in India, has been leading the training sessions.

The ongoing camp is part of a larger initiative, facilitated by the Ministry of Sports of Azerbaijan through an MoU with India, bringing international expertise to local athletes. Mr. Kiran Wattal, Vice President of the Gymnastics Federation of India, emphasized this collaboration, stating, “The support from Azerbaijan’s sports ministry has been instrumental in raising the bar for gymnastics in India.” The camp is being organised by J&K Sports Council in collaboration with Gymnastics Federation of India & Gymnastics Association of J&K.

Thirty rhythmic gymnasts from across India, including participants from Jammu & Kashmir, participated in the demonstration. Ms. Neetu Bala from Punjab, a national coach and technical committee member for rhythmic gymnastics in India, was also present, along with Ms. Manisha Gupta, a senior coach from the J&K Sports Council and an international FIG judge, and Ms. Sapna Gupta, an international FIG qualified judge from Haryana.

The event saw enthusiastic participation and was attended by key officials, including Ms. Nusrat Gazala, Divisional Sports Officer of the J&K Sports Council, and her team, comprising Mr. Iqbal and Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad.

Principal of DPS Srinagar, Shafaq Afshan, expressed her pride in hosting the event, saying, “We are honored to witness such an exceptional display of talent. This initiative not only promotes sports but inspires our students to aim for international excellence.”

Dilbar Ibrahimova, speaking about her experience in Srinagar, said, “It’s been a pleasure working with such talented young gymnasts. I am deeply impressed by their dedication and look forward to seeing their growth.”

Echoing her sentiments, Krupali Patel Singh stated, “This camp marks a significant step for the future of rhythmic gymnastics in India. With such exposure, our gymnasts are bound to make a mark on the global stage.”

The participating gymnasts and officials were felicitated by Delhi Public School Srinagar, in recognition of their efforts and dedication.
