Police on Monday recovered dead body of a missing person from Power Canal near Satruna area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Police Sources said that after locals informed the police, a police party from police station Kangan rushed to the spot and fished out the body from Power Canal with the help of locals.
He said that the deceased person identified as Rafaqat Ahmad Kasana son of Bashir Ahmad (25) a resident of Hariganiwan was missing since July 5 last month.
The sources added that they have recovered the body from a Power Canal at Sumbal Bala under the jurisdiction of police Station Kangan.
SHO Police Station Kangan Turk Zahoor said that after performing medico legal formalities the body has been handed over to his legal heirs for last rites
Police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation has been taken up, he said.
