Udhampur, June 02: Vice Chairperson District Development Council Udhampur, Juhi Manhas Pathania on Friday called for time-bound and qualitative completion of public projects.
She was addressing the Janta Darbars at Pathwar and Babey where she inaugurated a community hall. She also inaugurated two newly-constructed community halls, one at Paroo (Pathwar) and another at Babey.
After the inauguration, the Vice Chairperson emphasized the importance of community spaces in promoting social cohesion and community development.
The community halls will be a valuable asset and residents of the area can organize social gatherings, festivals and meetings over there, she said and expressed optimism that the halls will be used for various activities that will help to bring the community together and foster a sense of unity.
While addressing people at public darbars at Panchayats Babey and Pathwar, Juhi had a detailed overview of the public grievances of the people of the areas. The darbars witnessed an overwhelming response wherein a large number of people apprised the Vice Chairperson with their grievances, demands and issues of public importance.
Detailed discussions were held on various issues like blacktopping and maintenance of roads, removal of encroachments, augmentation of water supply, tube-well/bore-well for irrigation facility, PM-KISAN installments related problems faced by people, and other public importance issues were discussed in brief.
The Vice Chairperson said, “The UT dispensation is over-anxious regarding public outreach programmes. The government is committed towards good governance and easy and ready access to public services.” She underlined the role of panches and sarpanches in ensuring a proactive and participative administration and sought their cooperation in dealing with vital issues of public importance.
Juhi Manhas urged them to come up with suggestions to improve the development scenario in their respective wards to maintain a good rapport between the administration and the public.
