The District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq, today connected with the grassroots of the community by addressing a grievance redressal camp held in Akhal village of Ganderbal district.

During this interactive session, she lent a compassionate ear to the concerns and grievances of the local residents.

The camp witnessed overwhelming response from prominent citizens and PRIs of the areas who apprised the DDC Chairperson of various issues pertaining to their areas.

The demands that were mainly raised by the deputations range from augmentation of power and water supply, development of roads and bridges, road connectivity in higher reaches, devising of robust mechanism for flood prone and affected areas near water bodies, land for landless families, better healthcare facilities, NOCs from forest department for developing infrastructure in the upper reaches of the district, sanitation drives, dredging of irrigation canals and other issues of public importance.

DDC Chairperson while interacting with line departments, called for adopting a time bound redressal/execution mechanism in resolving the issues of public importance by making optimum utilization of resources.

Chairperson said that public darbar is a platform to obtain first hand appraisal from the grassroots level besides reducing the communication gap between the public and the administration.

Nuzhat Ishfaq, while addressing the gathering, said that their demands shall be brought into the notice of concerned departments and assured them of proper action and timely redressal of their grievances.

The event witnessed active participation of several key government officers, including the Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, SDM Kangan, senior officers, and dedicated members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions.

The presence of the Officers underscored the significance of collaborative efforts in resolving pressing issues and enhancing the overall welfare of the Ganderbal district.
