Srinagar, July 19: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat on Friday conducted an extensive tour of City’ areas to take onsite appraisal of pace and progress of ongoing works.
The DC visited Noor Jehan Bridge Qamarwari, proposed site of Mini Secretariat Srinagar at Batamaloo, Court Complex at Raki Gund Aksha Bemina and Safa Kadal.
During his visit to Noor Jehan Bridge being constructed over river Jhelum at Qamarwari, the DC issued strict directions to the concerned executing agency to complete the remaining work on the said bridge by end of August this year, and make it functional for the convenience of the general public.
Similarly, the DC also took stock of the pace of the progress made in respect of Court Complex at Raki Gund Aksha Bemina and extension of Darish Kadal bridge.
While, he also took appraisal of proposed Mini Secretariat Srinagar at being constructed at Batamaloo,
With regard to rising suicide attempts at bridge sites, the DC also gave on spot directions for fencing of Noor Jehan Bridge, Safa Kadal Bridge and Gaw Kadal Bridge, to avoid such incidents.
He asked the concerned to take up fencing works on priority and submit the estimates at the earliest for early approval of the works,
Further, the DC assured the general public that all the bridges will be fenced in a phased manner to avoid any further mishap.
During the visit, the DC was accompanied by Superintending Engineer (R&B) Srinagar, Narinder Kumar and Executive Engineer (R&B), Abdul Qayoom besides other Officers and officials.
Chairs meeting on Swachta Green Leaf Rating
Asks officers to intensify efforts to improve sanitation and hygiene in all panchayats of district
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar Dr۔ Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat on Friday chaired a meeting on Swachta Green Leaf Rating here at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, SDM East، Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, Block Development Officers of Harwan, Srinagar and Khonmoh.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of the Swachta Green Leaf Rating in the District.
The meeting discussed various issues related to solid waste management, liquid waste management, and sanitation infrastructure in the Panchayats
On the occasion, the DC directed all the stakeholders to collect the list of registered hotels from the Tourism Department in all the Panchayat Blocks and submit the same with the Sub Division level Committees for further verifications to improve sanitation and hygiene in rural areas of the District.
The DC directed the Block Development Officers to intensify efforts to achieve the Swachta Green Leaf Rating in all panchayats of the district.
The meeting resolved to work collectively to improve sanitation and hygiene in rural areas and achieve the Swachta Green Leaf Rating in the District.
