DC inspects Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme at Village Banwat Gundi-Poonch

Poonch, Nov 03: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal on Sunday visited Village Banwat Gundi Nayian to inspect the ongoing work of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme there.
During the visit, DC Vikas Kundal was informed that almost all households have been provided water supply connections. The scheme envisaged to provide safe drinking water at a rate of 55 liters per capita to every household of nearby villages.
The DC took a detailed assessment of the functioning of pipes, SR Tanks and directed to make sure to provide water at the doorsteps of every household.
The officers of the Jal Shakti department were instructed to conduct quality testing of water. The testing is aimed to ensure that the drinking water provided under the Jal Jeevan Mission meets the required safety standards.
The DC emphasized that every effort has to be made to ensure that the goal of tap water to all households is achieved as per the projected timeline.
The DC directed all the concerned officers to scale up the pace of work under JJM to achieve the target within the stipulated time.
He also directed the officers to regularly monitor the quality and progress of all allotted works for time-bound completion.
Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by AEE PHE Sub Division Poonch (Civil), AE Mechanical, JE Civil along with Contractors for detailed inspection of Civil and Mechanical components under this scheme.
