Doda, Oct 12: Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan on Thursday inspected the installation of the first lintel for the under-construction Multi-Storey Car Parking/Bus Stand project to tackle frequent traffic congestion in the town.
Valued at Rs 32 crores, the initiative aims to provide relief to commuters by easing traffic jams and congestion in the area. The first phase, covering 5000 sq feet, witnessed the successful installation of a concrete lintel.
During the ceremony, attended by various officials including DC Doda, President Municipal Council Doda Ved Prakash Gupta, SE PWD (R&B) RP Gupta, Executive Engineer PWD Division Doda, and EO MC Doda, DC Doda emphasized the importance of expediting the project’s completion. He directed authorities to ensure the next phase of the lintel is completed before Diwali, highlighting the project’s significance for the town’s traffic management.
DC Doda conducted a comprehensive review of the construction progress and engaged with relevant authorities to discuss strategies for accelerating the project. He instructed the executive officer to clear any unwanted structures near the construction site that might hinder progress.
Addressing the media, the DC expressed confidence in the timely completion of this vital project. He announced plans by the district administration to alleviate traffic congestion in the town. Initiatives include commencing work on Ghat road, Parmaaz road, and the proposed road connectivity from Ganpat Bridge to Dessa road.
Upon encountering a traffic situation on his way home, DC Doda promptly issued directives to address incorrectly parked vehicles, showcasing his commitment to ensuring smooth traffic flow in the area.
