Kathua, Aug 08: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma Friday chaired his first introductory meeting with District and Sectoral Officers in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex after assuming charge. He emphasised the need to evolve a result-oriented, inclusive and responsive governance model aimed at holistic development and efficient public service delivery.As per the statement, the meeting was attended by ADDC Kathua Surinder Mohan, ADC Kathua Vishavjeet Singh, CEO BDDA Atul Gupta, CEO BBDA Babu Ram Tandon, ADC Basohli Pankaj Mangotra, ADC Billawar Vinay Khosla, ACR Vishav Partap Singh, ACD Akhil Sadotra, CPO Ranjit Thakur, GM DIC Mushtaq Chaudhary and Executive Engineers from PWD, Jal Shakti and JPDCL, along with other district officers. The Deputy Commissioner outlined a governance framework based on accountability, transparency, work culture and efficiency. He directed officers to ensure effective field-level implementation of government schemes and flagship programmes so that benefits reach the grassroots level. He called for a positive approach and upscaling the good work already being done in various sectors. Underlining the need for a coordinated administrative effort, the DC urged all departments to work in close synergy, remove procedural bottlenecks and expedite the execution of development works. While reviewing the progress of major targets under District Capex, he stressed the importance of achieving tangible results through time-bound project completion. The DC also directed officers to maintain a compassionate and respectful approach towards the public while delivering services. Reviewing arrangements for the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations, the DC asked all departments to work in close coordination with the District Administration to ensure the event is celebrated in a befitting manner. The meeting also discussed other important issues, including the menace of drugs, the implementation of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, and spreading awareness about the JK Samadhan portal for grievance redressal and the JK Sehat application for availing health services. Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner chaired a meeting of stakeholders on the sub-theme of the School Education Department in view of the upcoming Fifth National Conference of Chief Secretaries. The meeting aimed to gather feedback from all stakeholders on the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020. The DC impressed upon the need to obtain inputs from all concerned stakeholders on the prescribed template so that the execution of NEP-2020 can be restructured accordingly. He urged participants to go through the key aspects of the policy and furnish valuable suggestions by filling the template within the stipulated time frame.
