DC Budgam flags-off ‘Run for Unity’ from Railway Station Budgam to DC Office

Celebrating Rashtriya Ekta Diwas/ National Unity Day, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo along with SSP Budgam today flagged-off Run for Unity Program at Railway Station Budgam.

The event was organized by the District Administration Budgam to promote a sense of unity and integrity amongst citizens.

The event, commenced from Railway Station Budgam to Bihisht Zehra Park witnessed participation of several hundred participants, including members of civil society, respected locals and students from different schools.

SSP Budgam, Al- Tahir Gillani; ADDC Budgam, Dr Akramullah Tak; Chief Education Officer Budgam, Romana Qazi, and other senior officers also participated in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC appreciated the participants and highlighted the importance of commemorating the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas/ National Unity Day.

During the conclusion ceremony, the participants also enthusiastically participated in the Ekta pledge ceremony. The Integrity and Unity pledge was administered by ADDC Budgam, Dr Akramullah on the occasion.

Glowing tributes were paid to Sardar Vallabhai Patel, by the DC for his immense contributions for the unity of the nation and for his rich legacy.

The DC emphasised on celebrations of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas as an occasion to actively contribute to the nation’s integrity and its synergised development.
