Bandipora, Jan 14: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shakeel Ur Rehman Rather on Sunday held a public outreach programme at the far-flung Athwatoo area of the district to bridge the gap between administration and the public. The programme was organised to address the grievances of the local populace and ensure timely resolution of their issues.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by the senior officers of district administration, including Executive Engineers, tehsildar Bandipora, BDO concerned, DFO Bandipora besides other concerned officials and officers.
The DC interacted with a large gathering of villagers and gave patient hearing to their concerns and issues. Residents raised various matters on basic amenities like drinking water supply, road connectivity, healthcare facilities, education infrastructure, mobile network connectivity, and livelihood opportunities.
Taking cognizance of the grievances, the DC assured the villagers of prompt action and directed the concerned officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan for addressing their issues on a priority basis. He emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination and stressed the need for timely completion of ongoing developmental projects in the area.
On the occasion, the DC took stock of different facilities being provided to the people, including land passbooks and inheritance mutations, Ayushman Bharat Sehat Cards besides other common facilities. Tehsildar Bandipora was directed to complete the process of issuance of pending Land Passbooks and attestation of Inheritance Mutations in a week positively.
Shakeel ur Rehman directed the concerned BDO to examine all issues regarding RDD including PMAY and developmental demands for necessary consideration in upcoming plans as per merits. He said sincere efforts to connect with the people, understand their concerns, and work towards finding solutions are the priority of district administration.
“The administration is committed to ensuring equitable development across all regions of Bandipora, and the Athwatoo area will receive due attention in terms of infrastructure development and provision of basic amenities,” he said.
The public outreach program was well-received by the villagers, who appreciated the initiative of DC Bandipora to visit their remote area and address their concerns firsthand.
The DC also conducted an extensive tour of the area. He inspected the tourism infrastructure within the region and emphasized on promotion of tourism in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner.
