DC Anantnag inaugurates Provincial Level Inter District ‘Kabaddi’ Tournament

Srinagar, Oct 24: Provincial level inter District Kabaddi tournament for AAG-Boys was Monday inaugurated by the District Development Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Basharat Qayoom (IAS) at sports stadium Pahalgam in the presence of Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Kashmir Bashir Ahmad (Organising Secretary), District Youth Services & Sports officer Anantnag Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori along with all technical officials and field staff of the department.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony the chief guest laid stress on active participation in sports activities. He also advised the participants that they will enjoy the game by playing with true sportsmanship. He also wished that players will work hard to get their place at National and International level.
Earlier, the chief guest administered a pledge to the participating players under the banner of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’.
Joint Director Youth services and sports Bashir Ahmad while presenting the welcome address thanked the chief guest for sparing the precious time with the players which will further encourage them to take active part in sports activities.
He also threw light on the departmental activities and said that apart from school going children activities are organized by the department for the non- going school persons in the age group of 19 to 35 years under YSS & LG’s Rolling Cup as well.
120 players from ten districts of Kashmir division are part of this tournament. Pertinent to mention that the event is organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Anantnag.
