Day will come when J&K people’s dignity will be returned: Dr Abdullah

Srinagar, Nov 08: National Conference (NC) president, Dr Farooq Abdullah on Friday said Jammu and Kashmir never accepted the decision taken on August 05, 2019, and that day will come when everything will be restored.
Speaking to reporters at the J&K Assembly, he said, “It has been proved today that the decision they (Centre) took on 5th August 2019 is not acceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They are not standing with the decision. There will be a day when the people of J&K will get their respect back. Maybe Omar and I will not be there on that day, but the people of J&K will see.”
Dr Farooq said the global community is now aware of the region’s continued discontent with the decision.
Regarding the restoration of Article 370, the NC chief said, “Why can’t it be restored? The day will come soon when the dignity of the people will be returned. Maybe we will not be there at that time, but it will be returned.”
Earlier, Dr Abdullah reached the J&K Assembly to attend the post-lunch session. Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, along with other assembly legislators, welcomed him for gracing the occasion. The five-day assembly session concluded on Friday evening.
