Srinagar, Oct 24:- Directorate of Health Services Kashmir conducted a two day extensive tour of far off places of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district to take stock of the arrangements being made for winters.
He was accompanied by CMO Kupwara, MS SDH Kupwara, BMO Kralpora and other health officers and officials of the health department.
During the visit to Keran, he also reviewed all the health care arrangements and facilities being provided to the patients at Keran
He appreciated the staff for working tirelessly in spite of difficult circumstances at the place.
The director also interacted with a delegation of local people who raised their various demands
Dr MA Rather assured the delegation that all genuine demands will be fulfilled immediately.
He also met a delegation of PRI members and discussed the status of health care arrangements available for the people.
The director directed all the Chief Medical Officers to take routine field rounds and visits at various areas and should make a roster of such visits to see the ground situation at sub-center, PHC and CHC level.
He also directed the CMOs to share the reports of their field visits with the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir.
A health department official said that the visit was aimed to review the healthcare facilities and bring an improvement in the services that are rendered at different hospitals.
Notably on Monday, the Director visited different areas of Tangdhar to take stock of the health care arrangements.
2 drug peddlers arrested in South Kashmir: Police
Srinagar, Oct 24: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in South Kashmir’s Anantnag & Kulgam districts and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued, police said in Anantnag, a Police party of Police Station Bijbehara headed by SHO PS Bijbehara, arrested a drug peddler and recovered 36.5 Kgs of Charas Powder from his possession.
He has been identified as Shakeel Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Rasool Bhat resident of Arwani Bijbehara. He has been arrested and shifted to Police station where he remains in custody.
In Kulgam, a Police party of PS Qazigund headed by SHO PS Qazigund during patrolling at Naid Check, Nassu Badragund intercepted a suspicious person carrying a nylon bag, who after noticing police party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully. He has been identified as Mohd Hussain Ganie son of Ghulam Rasool Ganie resident of Naid Check Nassu Badragund. During search, officers were able to recover 08 Kgs of Poppy Straw from his possession.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
