Srinagar, Dec 20: Cyber Police Kashmir has initiated a probe into the operations of “Curative Survey Private Limited,” a company accused of orchestrating a fraudulent scheme that duped unsuspecting individuals of their hard-earned money.
The alleged scam involved enticing victims to invest in the company with promises of substantial returns for participating in daily survey activities.
According to Cyber Police Kashmir, Under FIR No 39/2023, registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and IT Act, Cyber Police Kashmir Zone, Srinagar, launched a thorough investigation after receiving information about the deceptive practices of the said company.
Preliminary findings suggest that the company abruptly ceased payments to registered individuals, prompting its promoters and directors to abscond, leaving staff and investors in the lurch.
During the initial stages of the investigation, authorities swiftly froze several identified accounts linked to the company and conducted searches at multiple locations, including registered offices, which have now been sealed. Electronic devices and incriminating documents were seized during these searches, providing crucial leads for further inquiry.
While the registered owners and promoters of “Curative Survey Private Limited” are being identified and investigated, the role of local office staff and individuals promoting the fraudulent schemes on social media is also under scrutiny.
The investigation is progressing expeditiously, with a commitment to bringing those responsible for the scam to justice.
The Cyber Police Kashmir has issued a cautionary advisory to the general public, urging individuals to exercise caution and verify the credentials of online schemes before investing their money. Those affected by the scam are encouraged to share any relevant information with the investigation agency.
