Srinagar, July 10: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J&K, Anand Jain, on Thursday urged police personnel to stay away from drug abuse, online gaming addiction, and rising cyber frauds targeting security forces.Addressing officers at IRP 4th Battalion in Kupwara, Jain said such habits are eroding discipline and pose serious risks to operational effectiveness. “There is zero tolerance for drugs and digital distractions in the force. Discipline, fitness, and focus are non-negotiable,” he said.ADGP Jain cautioned that online gaming is emerging as a silent addiction among youth in uniform, weakening mental sharpness and readiness. You are not just being watched on the ground but in cyberspace too. One careless click can compromise security, he said.On the occasion, ADGP Anand Jain also inspected the newly constructed infrastructure of the Border 2nd Battalion at Wayen, Kupwara. He reviewed the quality and progress of the ongoing construction works and issued on-the-spot directions to ensure timely completion of all pending projects.ADGP Jain further directed the Commandant of the Border Battalion to shift the unit’s office to the new premises without delay. Commending the personnel deployed in the strategically significant border district of Kupwara, he also lauded their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to duty.He was accompanied by Junaid Mehmood, IPS, DIG IRP Kashmir, and Munir Ahmad, SSP APCR Kashmir.Earlier on his arrival, the ADGP was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by a smart contingent of IRP 4th Battalion.
