Ganderbal, Nov 07: Department of Tourism Studies (DTS), School of Business Studies, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), organized an orientation and alumni interaction for the MBA-TTM (Master of Business Administration in Travel and Tourism Management) 2024 batch.
In his address, Prof. (Dr.) Fayaz Ahmed Nika, Dean, School of Business Studies, encouraged the students to make the most of their educational journey and be courageous in exploring the opportunities in the tourism sector. He urged the alumni to contribute in the well being of students and foster departments’ growth. Prof. Nika emphasised the need of preparing students for leadership roles in the tourism industry by equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge.
An informative session on anti-ragging by Dr. Faizan Ashraf Mir, Sr Assistant Prof. emphasized the university’s commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment. Dr. Tariq Ahmed Shah, Sr Assistant Librarian, provided an introduction to the library resources available to students.
Meanwhile the department of Botany Central University of Kashmir organized a two-day student induction programme for the newly admitted M.Sc Botany students to orient and prepare them for academic and campus life.
In his lecture, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Masoodi, Deptt of Food Science and Technology, University of Kashmir, spoke on “Time and Tides Wait for None,” inspiring students with reflections on the value of time and commitment to excellence. He commended the students for their achievements in qualifying for the CUET examination, encouraged them to uphold the university’s values, and urged active participation in both academic and extracurricular activities.
