Srinagar, Jan 16: In an effort to enhance admissions and academic excellence, the Central University of Kashmir on Tuesday introduced a series of impactful measures in the varsity.
Addressing a press conference here at Department of Information and Public Relations complex in Poloview Srinagar, Vice Chancellor Professor A. Ravinder Nath said that the university will introduce some Initiatives including fee waiver to meritorious and needy students to enhance academic excellence and admissions.
Nath said that the initiatives will include 100% tuition fee waiver for 10% of post-graduate students based on merit and financial need, with an additional 10% will recieve a 50% waiver, and another 10% will be benefited from a 25% waiver.
Highlighting the alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Nath said that plans have been designed to establish partnerships with industries across the country to facilitate internships for students.
Nath further said that the university aims to introduce a credit-based system which will allow students to accumulate credits from partner universities globally which will also enhance international exposure of students.
He said that to support these progressive steps, a substantial amount of Rs 494 crore will be allocated for infrastructure development within the university.
Nath said that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Malaysian university and more MoUs are anticipated with universities in various countries across world.
