Ganderbal, Jan 26: Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) marked the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and fervor at its Tulmulla Campus. Vice Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, unfurled the Tricolor and took the salute of the marching contingent of security guards, embodying the spirit of national pride and unity.
In his address, Prof. Ravinder Nath extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders of the university. He reflected on the profound significance of Republic Day, stating, “This day commemorates the historic moment when the Constitution of India came into effect, transforming our nation into a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic. It is a day to celebrate our pride, reflect on our journey, and renew our commitment to the values enshrined in our Constitution.”
Highlighting the role of the Constitution as the cornerstone of democracy, Prof. Nath emphasized the responsibility of citizens and institutions in nation-building. He remarked, “The principles of justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution must guide us as individuals and as an academic institution committed to the pursuit of knowledge and societal progress.”
He underscored the pivotal role of education in shaping a vibrant democracy, stating, “The Central University of Kashmir is dedicated to nurturing the future of the nation. Education is the bedrock of a progressive society, and it is our collective duty to uphold and propagate constitutional ideals through academic excellence, critical thinking, and inclusive education. Our diverse and talented university community stands as a microcosm of India’s rich heritage and pluralism. Together, let us strive to make our campus a beacon of innovation, ethical leadership, and cultural harmony.”
The Vice Chancellor called upon the university community to lead in creating knowledge and fostering dialogue for sustainable and equitable development. “Our shared commitment to these goals will not only strengthen our institution but also contribute to the greater cause of nation-building,” he concluded.
