Srinagar, April 03: The CT Scan machine from Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Hospital in Khanmoo would be shifted to SKIMS Soura within two weeks, officials said on Wednesday.
The move has come on the directions of Secretary Health & Medical Education and Director SKIMS, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, who recently convened a review meeting regarding the functioning of SKIMS.
Officials said during the meeting various issues came under discussion which mainly included the functioning of CT Scan, availability of Isotopes and Biochemical reagents, installation of Wide Bore CT Simulator and shifting of CT Scan from DRDO Hospital to SKIMS.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan said that the shifting of the machine to the department of radio-diagnosis has been taken up and the process is going.
“The concerned officials are conducting the testing of the machinery and the system. We at SKIMS are also making available space for the machine,” he said, adding that the machine will be shifted within two weeks and officials have been pressed for the same.
The 500-bed Covid Hospital at Khonmoh, Srinagar was made operational in 2021 in a short span of 17 days and was funded by the PM CARES Fund. This Covid facility includes 125 ICU beds with ventilators, of which 25 are exclusively reserved for children.
