JAMMU, June 03: In a proactive move to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the ShriAmarnathjiYatra (SANJY) 2024, Chief Secretary AtalDulloo led a sub-committee meeting of the ShriAmarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), gathering senior officials from civil administration and police.
The meeting, held to assess the readiness for the forthcoming pilgrimage, focused on enhancing facilities and completing pending works before the commencement of the yatra. Emphasizing the importance of a hassle-free journey for pilgrims, Dulloo directed officials to bolster all necessary arrangements along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and the pathways leading to the holy Cave from Baltal and Chandanwari.
Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor and CEO SASB, Dr.Mandeep K Bhandari, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining various aspects of SASB-2024, including registration processes, service providers, yatra camps, langar services, and other essential facilities.
Among the key directives issued during the meeting was the completion of pending projects across various departments without compromising on quality. Dulloo urged officials to monitor ongoing sites regularly to ensure timely project completion.
Additionally, discussions centered on track upgrades and widening efforts, with directives issued to ensure proper facilities such as public conveniences, water and electricity supply, langars, registration, and medical care along the national highways.
Special attention was given to sanitation and waste disposal arrangements, with instructions provided to concerned departments to ensure environmentally safe facilities throughout the yatra route. Departments responsible for healthcare, electricity provision, and weather forecasting were also tasked with ensuring adequate facilities and timely updates.
Dulloo underscored the importance of effective communication, directing the Information Department to utilize various channels, including social media, for real-time updates on weather forecasts and other relevant information.
Finally, instructions were issued to the Fire & Emergency Service Department to equip all locations with firefighting equipment and conduct fire safety audits before the commencement of Yatra 2024.
With a focus on ensuring pilgrims’ comfort and safety, the Chief Secretary emphasized the need for all required arrangements to be in place well in advance, ensuring a smooth journey to the revered Shrine.
