Srinagar, Oct 01: The 75 Battalion CRPF conducted a successful cleanliness drive at the Zeashta Devi temple premises on Sunday. The event was organised and supervised by the battalion Commandant K K Pandey to inspire voluntary ‘Shram Daan’ activities among citizens and promote collective responsibility for cleanliness.
Over 100 jawans and officers from the battalion, along with volunteers from civil organisations, participated enthusiastically in the drive as part of the “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign organised from September 15 to October 02, 2023, to celebrate the 9 years of Swachh Bharat Mission. The theme for SHS 2023 was ‘Garbage-Free India’.
“The dedication and commitment of the jawans in the cleanliness drive was highly appreciated by the temple staff, pilgrims and civil volunteers,” the Commandant said.
The temple, located amid mountain contours, invited weeds, shrubs and stockpiles of dried leaves which had to be cleaned. The one-hour-long cleanliness drive reinstated not only the natural beauty of the premises landscape but also promoted a sense of cleanliness, hygiene, and sustainability towards the environment.
Commandant KK Pandey said that the 75 Battalion takes pride in serving the nation with valour and grit and is also committed to fulfilling its social obligations and role towards the environment with dedication and conviction.
