Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Monday said that the cross-border firing in Jammu and Kashmir has caused immense sufferings since 1947.

Surinder Choudhary,  said that it is unfortunate “we have been witnessing it since 1947, and it has ruined lives whenever it erupts. Hopefully, we will get rid of it.”

On being asked about illegal mining in water bodies, he assured strict action, stating that the government has adopted a “zero tolerance policy” against such activities.

“There will be no compromise on illegal mining. Be it sand mining or any other activity, action will be taken against it. A committee has been formed to look into the issue,” he said—(KNO)
