Srinagar, June 09: Srinagar, June 09: The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir recently submitted a chargesheet in Case FIR No. 26/2018 U/S 420, 120-B RPC of P/S Crime Branch Kashmir (Now Economic Offences Wing Srinagar) before the Court of Passenger Tax Srinagar.
The chargesheet was filed against Nazir Ahmad Wani, the proprietor of International College of Aviation Baghat Barzulla, Srinagar, and Shubnam Fayaz.
The case was initiated based on a written complaint received from the CM’s grievance cell, followed by another communication from the Civil Aviation Department of the J&K Government. The allegations state that students paid significant amounts of money for an Aviation and Hospitality course offered by the college, which was neither recognized nor registered. Subsequently, Case FIR No. 26/2018 U/S 420, 120-B RPC of P/S Crime Branch Kashmir (Now Economic Offences Wing Srinagar) was registered, and an investigation was launched.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the proprietor of International College of Aviation Baghat Barzulla, Srinagar had established the institution without obtaining the required registration from the regulatory authorities of the Government of India. Furthermore, it was discovered that the accused, Nazir Ahmad Wani, had affixed different logos on the course certificates. By making false promises of a bright future and job security, Wani deceived innocent students, ultimately cheating them.
Additionally, it was found that Wani, acting as the proprietor-cum-Managing Director, enticed aspiring students to enroll in a six-month or one-year course at the unrecognized International College of Aviation Baghat Barzulla, Srinagar. Through this scheme, he fraudulently extracted significant sums of money from the students, resulting in financial loss and deceit.
The accused persons have been charged under section 420 and 120-B RPC for their involvement in the fraudulent activities. The chargesheet has been presented before the Hon’ble Court of Passenger Tax Srinagar, where the case will be determined judicially. The victims, the students who were deceived by the false promises, will seek justice in this legal proceeding.
The case highlights the importance of proper regulation and oversight in the education sector to protect students from falling prey to fraudulent institutions. Authorities are urging aspiring students to verify the authenticity and accreditation of educational institutions before making any financial commitments.
