Srinagar, Aug 13: The College of Temperate Sericulture (CoTS), SKUAST-K, Mirgund, was abuzz with patriotic fervor on August 12, 2024 – as part of the preparations for the 78th Independence Day celebrations.
The college hosted a series of competitions, including Quiz, Essay, and Painting contests, all centered around the theme, “Independence of India.” Students from across the college participated with enthusiasm, showcasing their creativity, knowledge, and love for the nation. The campus was filled with energy as participants paid tribute to India’s rich history and celebrated the spirit of freedom.
The event began with a warm welcome by Dr. Aabid Khaliq Tantray, Student Welfare Officer, who greeted the participants and faculty members.
The Associate Dean of the college, Prof K.A.Sahaf praised the students and staff for organizing such meaningful events that foster a sense of unity and patriotism. The proceedings were skillfully conducted by Dr. Iqrah Akbar, Assistant Professor.
Dr. Zaffar Iqbal Buhroo, NSS Officer of the college, led a successful cleanliness drive in and around the college campus. Students and staff members actively participated, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining a clean and green environment.
