Coordinated efforts to dismantle terrorist networks & OGWs in region: DGP

Srinagar, Nov 03: In a significant development, the Director General of CRPF, Dr. Sujoy Lal Thaosen, and the Director General of Police for Jammu and Kashmir, R. R Swain, jointly chaired a high-level meeting of officers to assess the overall security situation in the Kashmir Valley.
The meeting, held at the Police Control Room in Kashmir, encompassed a detailed review of all security arrangements for the upcoming winter season. Field officers provided insights into the various measures and countermeasures undertaken to ensure the safety and security of the people.
Addressing the meeting, DGP J&K R R Swain emphasised the need to enhance and augment capabilities to achieve desired security results. He stressed the importance of using modern technological tools to monitor the security situation and urged for launching operations in higher altitudes to flush out hiding terrorists.
The DGP also highlighted the significance of the Dial 112 helpline in Police Control Rooms, stressing its role as the first responder in any situation. He emphasized the need for enhanced vigilance against the terror support ecosystem and directed efforts towards monitoring the activities of suspicious elements. Furthermore, he called for coordinated efforts to dismantle the OGW network and hybrid terrorists.
R.R Swain directed the security forces to maintain constant pressure on anti-peace elements to prevent any resurgence of terror groups. He urged the officers to devise strategies to further consolidate peace in Jammu and Kashmir, acknowledging the record low number of active terrorists in the region. He cautioned against potential attempts to disturb the peace and called for joint training of personnel to handle law and order situations effectively.
The meeting saw in-depth discussions on various terrorism-related issues, including the presence of foreign and local terrorists in higher altitudes and their attempts to descend during the winter. Continued infiltration attempts from across the border and measures to deter such attempts were also on the agenda. Discussions were held regarding the creation of a database of uncategorized terrorists, capacity building, improving communication between forces to enhance synergy, and the sharing of intelligence for better operational results.
The officers present at the meeting provided valuable suggestions concerning anti-terror operations and further strengthening peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Among others present in the meeting included ADG CRPF Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat; ADGP Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar; IG BSF Ftr Hqrs Kashmir, Ashok Yadav; IG CRPF Kashmir Ops Sector, Gayendra Kumar Verma; IGP CRPF Srinagar (Ops) Sector, Ajay Yadav; IGP B K Virdhi; DIsG Sujit Kumar, Shri Vivek Gupta, Rayees Mohammad Bhat; DIG SSB Kashmir, H.B K Singh; DIG CRPF North Srinagar Sudhir Kumar; DIG CRPF South Srinagar K.S Deswal; DIG CRPF Baramulla R.S Rawat; DIG CRPF South Kashmir Alok Awasthi; DIG RPF K.K Ashraf; DIG CISF Vertul Singh; SSP Srinagar; SSP PCR Kashmir; and intelligence officers.
