Jammu, Apr 02: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Working President Raman Bhalla on Tuesday filed a nomination for the upcoming parliamentary elections from the Jammu constituency.
Hundreds of enthusiastic Congress workers thronged the streets of Jammu to join the procession of Raman Bhalla who was accompanied by senior AICC leaders including AICC Incharge J&K Affairs Bharatsinh Solanki, JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani and AICC Joint Secretary Manoj Yadav.
Raman Bhalla embarked on an open vehicle journey towards the DC office, where they were joined by National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and senior NC leaders to file the nomination with the Returning Officer.
Addressing the gathering at Shaheedi Chowk, Bharatsinh Solanki urged the people to vote for “change” and “overthrow the dictatorial regime” of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He expressed confidence that both Lok Sabha seats of Jammu and Udhampur would be secured by the Congress party with a resounding majority, reflecting the widespread desire for change among the electorate.
JKPCC chief Wani criticised the BJP for its “divisive policies” and “targeted attacks” on the opposition, asserting that the Congress party is at the forefront of the fight against the “tyrannical regime”. He said people are determined to oust the BJP and herald a new era of governance that prioritises the welfare of the common citizen.
In his address, Raman Bhalla extended gratitude to the massive turnout at the rally and called for the defeat of the incumbent regime. He pledged to champion the cause of the marginalised and address pressing issues such as economic distress, unemployment, and price rise, vowing to restore balance and equitable development in the region.
The rally, organised under the supervision of Th Manmohan Singh, DCC President Jammu Urban, witnessed stirring speeches by several senior leaders.
