Jammu, Jan 23: Former All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that statehood is the biggest issue of J&K and the Congress will do everything possible to grant statehood to J&K.
“and the Congress Party is with the people of J&K and will do everything to make sure that J&K gets full Statehood,” Rahul Gandhi said While addressing people near Satwari in Jammu on Monday afternoon, Gandhi said BJP snatched rights and statehood of the people and since then outsiders are ruling J&K while the administration doesn’t listen to people’s problems.
“Locals (people of J&K) are losing jobs and unemployment in J&K, especially in Jammu is highest in the country”.
The Congress leader said the entire trade in J&K is controlled by the outsiders and there is no one to listen to peoples’ problems. He also castigated the J&K administration for the plight of Kashmiri Pandits (KPs). “In J&K, the land of poor people is being taken away and there is no one to listen to their concern,” he said.
Gandhi also talked about the issue of KPs and said that they are being treated badly by the J&K Government. “A delegation of KPS met me and apprised me about their problem,” he said adding, “The KPs told me that they called on LG for redressal of their problems but the LG told them (KPs) that they should not beg”.
He added, “I want to say that KPs are not begging but they are demanding their rights”. He also said that people of J&K had very little options as far as employment is concerned and the Agniveer Yojna deprived them of even the opportunity of joining the Army.
“People of J&K can’t be doctors, lawyers, engineers etc and now they can’t even join the Army after the central government’s Agniveer yojna,” he said and reiterated that outsiders are ruling J&K.
The Congress leader also reiterated that GST and Demonetization have ruined the country and the entire wealth of the country is going into the coffers of 3-4 industrialists.
“BJP has broken the backbone of small traders with GST and Demonetisation,” he said adding, “Unemployment and inflation are only due to GST and Demonetisation”.
The government is working for only 3-4 industrialists while the common man is being pushed to the wall but the government is least bothered.
