Samba, June 19: Congress District President Samba, Sanjeev Sharma on Wednesday held a meeting of the party’s constituency workers. Apart from the members of the Samba Constituency Congress Core Committee, the meeting saw the attendance of hundreds of party workers from various villages within the constituency.
In his address to the workers, Sanjeev Sharma urged them to prepare for the upcoming urban local bodies, panchayat elections and assembly elections. He assured the workers that “deserving” candidates would be given the party mandate.
Sharma criticised the current administration, saying the people of Jammu and Kashmir have “suffered” due to the “wrong policies” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government.
“The BJP snatched land and job rights from the people and downgraded the region from a full-fledged state to a Union Territory,” he said.
Sharma called on the party workers to be ready to defeat the “anti-people, anti-youth, anti-students and anti-farmers” regime in the upcoming elections. He urged the Congress functionaries to maintain close contact with the public and highlight “various failures” of the BJP government.
