Congress prepares for ULB, Panchayat elections

Srinagar, Dec 02: The Srinagar District Congress Committee (DCC) held a meeting on Monday to review preparations for the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) and Panchayat elections. The meeting, held at the Srinagar party office, focused on strengthening the party’s organisational structure and formulating strategies to address challenges in the upcoming elections.
DCC Srinagar convened senior party leaders, block presidents, former councillors and corporators to discuss their approach to the elections. The meeting involved detailed discussions on ward-wise activities and organisational matters in the district, the DCC said in a statement issued here, adding that the participants were urged to reach out to the public and seek their support during the elections.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous resolution to intensify efforts to further strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
DCC President Irfan Naqib chaired the meeting, which was attended by senior leaders including Abdul Gani Khan, Nissar Ahmad Mundoo, Abid Imtiyaz Bhat, Dr Audil Farooq Mir, along with block presidents, ex-councillors, prominent Congress workers and Mahila leaders.
