Lauds AICC chief’s two-year presidency
Jammu, Oct 26: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) working president Raman Bhalla on Saturday congratulated Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on completing two years in office.
In a statement issued here, Bhalla described this milestone as significant. He praised Kharge’s “unwavering commitment, seasoned leadership and sage counsel”.
“Shri Kharge’s journey—from student union leader to the President of the Indian National Congress—is truly inspiring. His dedication to upholding India’s secular fabric and promoting inclusive politics serves as a beacon of hope for all,” Bhalla said. He extended his best wishes for Kharge’s continued impactful leadership and recognized his relentless service to both the nation and the party.
The JKPCC leader said that under Kharge’s leadership, the Congress party has made “significant progress” and revitalised its organisational structure. “Mr Kharge embodies the virtues of the Indian National Congress—democracy, social justice, secularism, inclusive growth, and patriotism,” he added.
Since assuming the presidency on October 26, 2022, Kharge has successfully steered the party toward stability while fostering a new narrative that unifies diverse voices, the Congress leader said.
“Mr Kharge’s extensive experience, calm demeanour and loyalty to the party, even amidst challenges are key factors that equipped him to lead the grand old party during a tumultuous period marked by factionalism and recent defeats,” he said.
Kharge has consistently emphasised that the Congress party’s foundation lies in protecting and upholding the Constitution of India while strengthening democracy. “Social justice, economic empowerment, progressive ideas, and welfare for the poorest are our core values,” Bhalla added.
