Samba, Dec 01: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Samba, Surjeet Singh Slathia on Sunday described the Congress-led INDI Alliance as an “amalgamation of self-seekers and opportunists” who have come together due to their “inherent hatred” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to sabotage his mission of a “Viksit Bharat”.
“The fundamental difference between the BJP and INDI Alliance is that the former believes in ‘Nation First’, party second and self last, while the latter believes in self first, family second, party third, and the nation last,” Slathia said while addressing a public rally at Village Sarna, Block Nud, Samba.
He added that the BJP’s focus on Jammu and Kashmir has not only transformed the Union Territory but has also made it a proud and equal partner in the country’s growth story.
Slathia, who is also the BJP Pradesh President, said that the philosophy of ‘Nation First’ is a guiding principle for national security and social harmony, which is an eyesore for those who have been struggling to maintain some semblance of relevance in national politics. “But for the lust of power, the INDI Alliance has nothing in common. To achieve their sinister political objectives, the alliance of opportunists has not even hesitated to compromise with the honour and pride of the nation,” he added.
The MLA Samba highlighted the BJP’s track record since its inception as Jana Sangh, especially in the past nearly ten years, which stands as testimony to its pledge of ‘Nation First’. He said the party has placed national interest at the forefront, even in an era where ideologies and priorities differ. “The pledge ‘Nation First’ is an intent and commitment to the inclusive growth of society, as per the cherished objective of *Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas*, besides progress for all, regardless of caste, creed, or region.”
Singh said PM Modi has translated this vision into reality on the ground, which is why India is seen as a vibrant country across the world. “Every Indian feels a sense of pride across continents for the stature the nation has achieved in the comity of nations,” he said.
He referred to the path-breaking initiatives taken under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister during the past ten years, saying that the focus has been on building a resilient nation that can overcome obstacles and emerge stronger.
Along with development, technological advancement, and economic reliance, the BJP has been successfully striving to foster a sense of patriotism and pride among citizens, encouraging active participation in the nation’s development, he said. “This is the mantra for *Atmanirbhar Viksit Bharat* and making India a developed nation by 2047,” he added.
