Jammu, Aug 22: The Congress party on Thursday expressed grief over the “untimely” demise of its senior leader Shadi Lal Pandita, who lost his life in a road accident near Sidhra.
Pandita, who was also the Vice Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Kashmiri Migrant Department, was returning after attending a meeting with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, in Jammu earlier in the day.
The party in a condolence statement described Pandita as a dedicated leader and a passionate advocate for the rights of Kashmiri migrants. “His long-standing association with the Congress party, beginning from his days in the Youth Congress, is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the cause,” JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said.
He said the entire Congress fraternity is in shock over this tragic loss and extends heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
