Jammu, Sept 21: In a significant move to boost skill-based education, a “Composite Skill Laboratory” was inaugurated at J&K Police Public School, Miran Sahib, Jammu. The inauguration was led by Ms. (Prof.) Rasmita Das Swain, Chairperson of the Management Committee, J&K Police Public Schools (PPSs)/Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA). The laboratory was established under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of GD Pharmaceuticals, makers of Boroline.
The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Ms. Sarah Rizvi, DIG IRP Range Jammu and Administrative Officer of J&K PPS, and PWWA members Ms. Jayashree Singh and Ms. Neetu Bali. Also present were Mr. Arun Tandon, Consultant from GD Pharmaceuticals, and Shri Rajeev Sharma, Principal of J&K PPS Miran Sahib.
Prof. Swain lauded the contributions of GD Pharmaceuticals, particularly the efforts of Mr. Arun Tandon. She emphasized that the Composite Skill Laboratory would play a crucial role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF-SE) which prioritize skill development.
Ms. Sarah Rizvi highlighted the importance of aligning education with modern job market demands, stating that the new laboratory would provide students with practical training opportunities. Principal Rajeev Sharma also expressed gratitude to the management and GD Pharmaceuticals, noting that the laboratory fulfilled a key requirement of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for skill development in schools.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Principal Rajeev Sharma, after which Prof. Swain interacted with the school’s teaching staff, acknowledging their contributions with a recent Teacher’s Day cash reward.
