Srinagar, Sep 29: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv-2025 celebrations, a series of people-centric and community welfare activities were Monday held across District Ganderbal with active participation from educational institutions, line departments and local bodies.As per a statement issued here, at Government Degree College (GDC) Ganderbal, a special programme featuring cultural and literary activities was organised under the aegis of Sewa Parv. The Library Committee of the college also hosted a "Book Review Event", which witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty and students. Continuing the Donation Drive initiated under Sewa Parv, GDC Ganderbal visited its adopted school, Government High School Shalabug, where a distribution ceremony of donated items was held for the benefit of students. Meanwhile, the Municipal Council Ganderbal carried out an intensive cleanliness drive at Taxi Stand Duderhama, removing a major garbage point to promote sanitation and public hygiene. Additionally, a “Say No to Single-Use Plastic (SUP)” awareness campaign was conducted at Tawheed Chowk Market, where shopkeepers and vendors were sensitized about the environmental hazards of single-use plastic and encouraged to adopt eco-friendly alternatives. Under the ongoing Poshan Maah celebrations, various programmes were organised across Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) of the district. A block-level programme was held at Bhatwari Mohalla, Ahmednagar, under the supervision of CDPO Ganderbal. The day’s theme was ‘Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and Mothers’ Meeting. Counselling sessions were conducted at AWCs highlighting the importance of ECCE for the holistic development of children in their formative years. Simultaneously, cleanliness drives were also conducted at AWCs along with interactive sessions with mothers regarding child development. Agriculture and allied departments held awareness camps on agriculture and allied schemes, ensuring community participation and wider outreach of government initiatives. The activities held today reflect the spirit of Sewa Parv-2025, aimed at fostering community service, environmental sustainability, education, health and child welfare in Ganderbal district.
