Committed to safeguarding J&K people’s rights: Lok Janshakti Party (R)

Jammu, Aug 14: Prominent social and political activist from Katra, Om Gupta along with his supporters on Wednesday joined Lok Janshakti Party (R) under the leadership of state President Rafiq Maliq.
Prominent among those present on the occasion include Shahbaz Malik Youth President of Lok Janshakti Party (R), Shakeel Ahmad, Vikram Singh, RK Bali, Arbaz Malik, Qadir Malik, Saqib Hakeem and Varun Bali, the LJP (R) said in a statement issued here.
Welcoming the new entrants into the party, Malik asked them to raise public issues on priority to ensure mitigation of same timely and properly. He assured them that LJP will continue to become voice of the voiceless and will not leave any stone unturned in meeting the expectations of J&K people.
The LJP leader, however, expressed serious concern over the “difficulties confronting the people in the absence of a democratic system in J&K”. He criticised the government for “snatching the rights” of people.
He said the party leadership has started working on a revival plan and the cadre is being revitalised to carry on the party’s political campaign with renewed vigour.
Malik urged the leaders to work hard to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. He urged the party cadres to gear up for the challenges.
The LJP (R) leader asked the Centre to pave the way for holding elections in J&K without creating hurdles.
Malik emphasised the need for a magnanimous approach to address the grievances of unemployed youth in the region. He suggested that the government should focus on giving them hope and opportunities.
