COAS visits forward posts along LoC in Kashmir

Srinagar, July 25: Chief of Army Staff, Upendra Dwivedi, visited forward areas along the Line of Control in Kashmir valley on Thursday.
An officail said that the purpose of his visit was to assess the security situation and the preparedness of the forces engaged in counter-infiltration and counter-terror operations.
Additional Directorate General of public information of army in a post on X said, “General Upendra Dwivedi COAS, visited the forward locations of Chinar Corps and reviewed the security situation along the Line of Control LOC.”
He also interacted with the Commanders and troops on ground. COAS lauded All Ranks for maintaining high standards of professionalism and exhorted them to remain steadfast in meeting emerging security challenges, the post added.
General Dwivedi later left for Kargil to take part in the silver jubilee celebrations of Kargil Vijay Diwas where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be present to pay teibutes to the those who sacrified their lives for nation during Kargil War.
The COAS arrived in Kashmir on Wednesday and paid tribute to soldier Dilawar Khan, who sacrificed his life during an anti-terrorism operation in Kupwara.
