Srinagar, July 07: Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar, Dr Jameel Ahmed Mir on Friday chaired a meeting of health officers and officials at Zone Zadibal ahead of Muharram Ul Haram.
Spokesperson DHSK, Dr Mir Mushtaq said many NGOs that work during the Muharram forwarded demands before the CMO Srinagar.
During the meeting threadbare discussion were held on the health arrangements to be put in place ahead of Muharram Ul Haram during the processions.
He said the NGOs demanded review meeting of Muharram ul Haram must be called by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir with all the departments like principal GMC Srinagar, DC Srinagar, SMC Commissioner, Mayor, DHSK, CMO, ZMO and all the NGOs.
The NGOs demanded movement passes duly issued by District Magistrate Srinagar for smooth Muharam ul Haram to all the concerned NGOs.
The spokesman said the NGOs also demanded adequate drug supply for which CMO Srinagar assured to ensure supplies’ availability. They also demanded adequate staff including doctors and paramedics from divisional level.
They also sought ambulance services including critical care ambulances at all the major processions from e beginning of Muharram ul Haram till 14 Muharram ul Haram.
They demanded that every procession must be equipped with trained staff and ambulance services. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Zonal Medical Officer Zadibal.
Deputy Director Health Services Kashmir (Dentistry) Dr Jahzaib, Spokesperson DHSK Dr Mir Mushtaq, Zonal Medical Officer Zadibal Dr Rubeena Aziz were present in the meeting.
