Srinagar, Dec 05: J&K, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday inaugurated several developmental projects at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura on its annual day to enhance patient care facilities at the institute.
At the annual day function, the Chief Minister physically inaugurated the emergency block and university block at the institute dedicated for the patients.
Later, the Chief Minister e-inaugurated day care unit, sports ground, CT Simulator, transport yard, OT Emergency, attendant shelter at State Cancer Institute and attendant shelter at SKIMS Maternity Hospital.
Omar also released a book on the 100 days journey under the leader of Director SKIMS, Dr M Ashraf Ganaie, released first of its kind antimicrobial policy handbook in J&K, annual report and syllabus of MD critical care medicine SKIMS.
Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie, Director SKIMS & EOSG spoke about the annual report highlighting activities and achievements and an overview of recent developments under his leadership.
The inaugurations highlighted the achievements of the institution with a special focus on best patient care practices, academic excellence and high end research.
On the annual day, SKIMS exhibition showcases the innovative contributions from various departments. SKIMS Oration, SKIMS Tarana and documentary film will be the other highlights of the event that captivated the audiences.
“The institute has worked steadfastly towards its mission of becoming a dedicated place of learning, teaching and compassionate healthcare,” the director said.
