Ganderbal, March 24: A local religious cleric died while three others were injured after two cars collided with each other on the Srinagar-Leh highway near the Bonibagh area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
An official told Rising Kashmir that a Swift Car bearing registration number JK16 -6685 collided with an Alto 800 bearing registration number JK16A-5488, resulting in injuries to four persons.
The injured were brought to Sub District Hospital where Molvi Qaiser Ahmed Wani, son of Abdul Hamid, a resident of Fraw Gund, was referred to SKIMS Soura, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The injured have been identified as Sirajuddin Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan of Fraw Gund, Tariq Ahmad Rather, son of Abdul Samad of Tulmulla Ganderbal, and Muhammad Shafi Sheikh, son of Abdul Ahad, a resident of Saloora Ganderbal.
Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended upon the Fraw Haknar village after the news of the death of the young cleric spread. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law.
