Class 4th student drowns to death in Jhelum at Noorbagh

A class 4th student drowned to death in river Jhelum near Noorbagh, Srinagar when he was trying to collect the cricket ball from the water body on Tuesday afternoon. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Muneer Ahmad Khanday (12), son of Mohd Maqbool Khanday, slipped into the river Jhelum Noorbagh in the afternoon.

He added that the boy slipped when he was collecting a cricket ball. “Moreover, Muneer, a class 4th student was rescued and shifted to SMHS for treatment, where doctors declared him dead.” Meanwhile, the locals in the area demanded proper fencing to prevent such incidents in the future—(KNO)
