Circus employee shot dead by terrorists in Anantnag

Srinagar, May 29: A circus employee was shot dead by terrorists near Amusement Park in Janglaat Mandi area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday evening, police said.
The deceased has been  identified as Deepu Kumar son of Masook Kumar resident of  Udhampur. He was working with a private Circus Mela at Amusement park near Janglaat Mandi in Anantnag. 
In a tweet, Kashmir Zone Police wrote, “Terrorists fired upon one civilian namely Deepu R/O Udhampur working at private circus mela at an amusement park near Janglaat Mandi in Anantnag. 
He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Case registered, investigation going on.
Soon after the attack, a joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army and paramilitary forces cordoned off the area to trace the terrorists behind the attack.
A police officer told Rising Kashmir that they received information about a terror crime incident in Jungalat Mandi area of Anantnag where terrorists had fired upon civilian on Monday late evening.
“Less known terrorist organization Kashmir Freedom Fighters have claimed responsibility for the attack and have warned of more such attacks in future,” he said.
Senior police officers along with reinforcement reached the terror crime spot.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. The investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime.
LG condemns attack
Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha has condemned the terrorist attack on a civilian in Anantnag district.. He extended his condolences to the family of martyred civilian Deepu. The Lt Governor said the government and the entire nation was standing shoulder to shoulder with the family. 
“Our security forces remain committed in their resolve to thwart the designs of terrorists and all efforts will be made to bring the perpetrators to justice,” the Lt Governor said.
