Rajouri, Jan 20: “The circular road in Rajouri is set to become an important alternate link within the town connecting the New bridge to Tariq bridge thereby reducing the overall distance by around 4-5 kilometres,” officials informed the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal on Friday.
The DC was inspecting the progress of work on the circular road which is being executed by the PWD(R&B). The estimated cost of the road is Rs 1.32 crore. The DC also discussed the issues hampering the execution of work and asked the department and concerned stakeholders to amicably resolve the bottlenecks at the earliest as the road is being constructed for the betterment of the general public.
Vikas asked the ExEn PWD (R&B) to expedite the progress and ensure that the work on the road is completed within the shortest possible time to provide benefits of connectivity to the general public with the completion of the project. He called for regular monitoring of the progress of the project with a special focus on the quality of work.
Those accompanying the DC during the visit were Chief Planning Officer Mohammad Khurshid, SE PWD(R&B) Kamal Kishore, ExEn PWD (R&B) Rajouri Maqbool Hussain and other concerned officers.
