Jammu, May 26: A delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), led by Dr M A Alim, Chairman of the CII J&K UT Council, along with Khurshid Dar, Head of the CII J&K UT Council, called on Nitish Rajora, Director of Information, Jammu and Kashmir. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss potential collaborative efforts to enhance UT’s global profile and promote economic development.
During the meeting, Dr Alim outlined CII’s initiatives aimed at positioning Jammu and Kashmir as an attractive destination for investment and tourism, the CII said in a statement issued here.
Dr Alim shared plans for a series of events designed to boost confidence among potential investors and visitors, thereby supporting the region’s socio-economic growth.
Director Information appreciated CII’s efforts and expressed his willingness to receive formal proposals for joint initiatives, the statement said, adding that Rajora said the Department of Information is prepared to collaborate with CII, as well as the Departments of Industries & Commerce and Tourism, to organise impactful events that highlight J&K’s potential.
Dr Alim also discussed CII’s participation in prominent global platforms such as the Cannes Film Festival and suggested that Jammu and Kashmir could leverage such international events to promote its rich cultural heritage, film tourism and business opportunities.
The meeting concluded with a consensus to work together on strategic plans to position J&K as a leading destination for trade, tourism and investment.
