Chugh slams opp for ‘misleading campaign’ against EVMs

Chandigarh, April 18: Bharatiya Janata Party Party (BJP) national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Thursday accused the opposition parties, particularly the Congress, of deliberately spreading a disinformation campaign against the EVM to mislead and hoodwink the people of the country
Chugh in a statement said, “Since the Congress and the other Opposition parties are facing an overwhelming defeat in the coming Lok Sabha election they are trying to digress the mind of the people to flimsy issues.”
He said the opposition parties are not only trying to fool people but are also trying to insult the constitutional office of the Election Commission of India. “It is a blatant effort of the Congress to malign the office of the ECI without realising that the Congress has won through the same EVMs in Karnataka, Telangana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and other states, besides AAP winning in Delhi,” he said.
The BJP leader said the promises and the achievements highlighted in the “sankalp patra” released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi have rattled them and now they are floating jittery expressions.
