Amritsar, Sep 04: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Monday came down heavily on DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin for “spreading poison in society” with statements like ‘Sanatan Dharma is against social justice’.
Chugh targeted the opposition alliance INDIA and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as well over the issue besides Tamil Nadu’s ruling party. “Is appeasement an agenda of the new-found alliance?” he asked.
He accused the INDIA bloc parties of insulting Sanatan Dharma for vote bank and appeasement politics.
“The people should reject the opposition grouping which is spreading hatred, poison and attacking the country’s culture and tradition,” the BJP leader said, adding that a public movement must be built against such ideas.
Meanwhile, Tarun Chugh has welcomed the decision of the Modi government to upgrade the Khellani tunnel which he said would open new avenues of development and progress in the region.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Roads & Highways, Nitin Gadkari for announcing the upgradation of the Khellani tunnel, Chugh said it would pave the way for employment opportunities to the local population and it would give a boost to tourism in the area.
It is pertinent to mention that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the upgradation of the Khellani tunnel into the 2-lane structure. “Uni-directional Khellani tunnel in Doda district is being upgraded into a two-lane structure on NH-244. It is part of Sudh Mahadev-Goha-Khellani-Chatroo-Khanabal which will serve as an alternate highway to Batote-Kishtwar,” Gadkari had announced.
According to experts, it will shorten the distance between Doda and Kishtwar by 30 kilometres. The project will span 2.419 kilometres and fall within package 3. The cost of the project will be over Rs 431 crore. The project is set to be completed this year.
Chugh expressed gratitude to the Union Minister, saying, “Post abrogation of Article 370, the entire J&K has witnessed a dawn of peace, prosperity and development.” He said PM Modi-led BJP government is committed to bringing incredible changes in J&K and its people and will leave no stone unturned to uplift the local economy.
