Srinagar, July 25: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Thursday said that there is a new-found confidence and optimism in Jammu & Kashmir after the implementation of various development policies and programmes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Addressing a series of gatherings in the union territory, Chugh accused the Abdullah and Mufti families of conniving with across-the-border forces to spread unrest in the valley.
“The entire J&K has a big contribution to make and a stage has come when a new sunrise is going to happen,” he said.
The BJP leader said that the people of J&K have taught a lesson to former chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti by giving them a crushing defeat. “Jammu & Kashmir must move ahead on the path of trust and development under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership,” he said.
He condemned Pakistan’s attempts to spread fear and violence in J&K, saying this will not be tolerated. “The government will not let Pakistan play its evil games,” he assured.
Chugh said the Abdullah, Mufti and Gandhi-Nehru families are engaging in “self-serving politics”. “They threw the people of Jammu & Kashmir into the burning flames to serve their own interests. These families ignored the plight of the people of Jammu & Kashmir during the 1990 massacres and instead pushed the region towards further turmoil,” he said.
