Kupwara, Oct 18: The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, in collaboration with 41 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), successfully organized a volleyball tournament in the villages of Halmatpora and Gonipora, Kupwara, from October 15 to October 18, 2024. The initiative aimed to empower local youth by promoting sports, teamwork, and a healthy, active lifestyle in the region’s rural areas.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing the Halmatpora block. The final match, held on October 18, 2024, saw an intense face-off between the teams from Chalgund and Gonipora, with the Chalgund team emerging as the overall winner. The event was marked by high energy, showcasing the spirit of competition and collaboration among the young players.
Trophies, medals, and certificates were awarded to the winners and runners-up, while participation certificates were distributed to all the participants, acknowledging their efforts and encouraging continued involvement in sports.
This initiative is part of the Indian Army’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with the community, promote physical fitness, and instill a sense of sportsmanship and unity among local youth.
